FLYING AT MACH 2

CRUISING SPEED

0nce Mach 1.7 is reached, the captain stops post-combustion. Very quickly the aircraft reaches Mach 2 or 2,200 km/h (1,350 mph), the aircraft's cruising speed.

Inside the cabin, Concorde's supersonic speed is not even noticeable. You are flying at twice the speed of sound without realizing it.

ALTITUDE

Concorde's cruising altitude ranges between 16,000 and 19,000 m (50,000 / 60,000 ft).

Unlike other aircraft, Concorde continues to climb while cruising. The absence of air traffic at the very high altitude at which Concorde flies allows it to choose its optimum altitude. This increases as the aircraft becomes lighter due to fuel consumption.
